15. Alyssa Milano
“The red MAGA hat is the new white hood.”
Alyssa Milano, 49, has gone from child star in Who’s the Boss? to TV roles in Melrose Place and Charmed, to tireless activism on issues such as AIDS, health care, gun violence, abortion, and of course, the #MeToo movement, which she helped launch. A supporter of Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Joe Biden, Milano revealed in 2019 that she had had two abortions when she was young, and she didn’t regret them because otherwise “I would not have my career.”[1]
She campaigned against the Supreme Court confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, dressing up as an oppressed Handmaid’s Tale character and urging her followers to “bang down” their senators’ doors in protest. She warned that Kavanaugh would “affect everything we know to be true as American citizens.”[2] Later she told CNN she was “filled with rage” that conservatives like Trump and Kavanaugh were “institutionalizing sexual abuse.”[3] (Perhaps she confused them with the gender-fluidity crowd in America’s K-12 school administrations.)
Milano proclaimed at an October 2021 abortion rally in Los Angeles, “I cannot believe how fucked up America is right now. I can’t believe how a handful of men are successfully taking 50 years of rights away from women, and how a Supreme Court packed with abusers [sic] is just going to sit by and let it all fucking happen.” She called on men to “use your privilege to destroy your own privilege.”[4]
Claiming that this is the most dangerous time women have ever faced, she told attendees at a January 2019 rally in Washington, D.C., “I do not have equal rights in the Constitution. That’s right, because I have a vagina I do not have equality and justice.”[5] Of course, the Constitution does not contain the words “male” and “female” – precisely because its equal rights are afforded to all citizens, not genders. She also later lamented that giving birth was “very reminiscent of being sexually assaulted.”[6] A woman who equates rape with giving life is what you might call a perfect spokesperson for the crowd that wants to abort the unborn up to the moment of birth.
In early 2019 she sparked controversy for tweeting that “The red MAGA hat is the new white hood. Without white boys being able to empathize with other people, humanity will continue to destroy itself.”[7] After drawing backlash for this racist assault she doubled down:
I am sorry. I’m sorry for the decades and decades of oppression and abuses people of color have faced in this country. I’m sorry that as part of a privileged white majority we did not stop this Administration from happening. I’m sorry to those who have suffered at the hands of the Red Hats and the policies their leadership implements. See, I’m not apologizing to the Red Hats. I’m apologizing for them.[8]
Even though Milano wrestled in February 2021 with the dawning realization that hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett was not the victim of MAGA Trumpers but faked the attack on himself,[9] she tweeted: “Police exist to uphold white supremacy and have been empowered by laws and the courts to inject themselves into Black life for any reason…”[10] A brazen lie – and not a white one.
14. Alec Baldwin
A star in The Hunt for Red October, the TV Show 30 Rock, and dozens more entertainments (including Saturday Night Live, where he used to recur regularly to imitate and mock President Trump), Baldwin, 64, is one of the industry’s most outspoken spreaders of Democrat slanders. An opponent of capital punishment, the Second Amendment, and Republicans, he has also been a fervent supporter of convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, the city-burning Occupy Wall Street movement, and leftist Presidents Clinton and Obama.[11]
On Conan O’Brien’s late-night NBC talk show during the impeachment proceedings against Bill Clinton, Baldwin angrily denounced GOP congressman Henry Hyde, who was managing the hearings in the House: “If we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together… would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death!… We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their [Republicans’] wives and their children. We would kill their families!”[12]
In April 2018, Baldwin tweeted that the Trump administration was filled with “pirates, whores, and thieves.”[13] In November of that year, he slammed Trump as a “National Socialist tumor” growing “day by day.”[14] That tweet came from the official Twitter account of Baldwin’s arts charity foundation.
In May 2019, Baldwin tweeted that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham was “nothing more than Trump’s fluffer,”[15] referring to the woman whose job it is on porn film sets to keep the male stars in a state of sexual readiness.
In the wake of Trump’s disputed election loss in 2020, Baldwin tweeted, “Bury Trump in a Nazi graveyard and put a swastika on his grave. The majority of Americans made the right choice. Trump is a maniac.”[16] Pondering what to do if Trump refused to concede the election, Baldwin tweeted,
Who arrests Trump if he refuses to concede?
Who drags him out?
Pepper spray? Cuffs?
A knee on his neck, cutting off his oxygen?
Does he wheeze “I can’t breathe.”
Just whale away on him like a piñata?
Rodney King style?
The thug who has destroyed the country. What does he deserve?[17]
Or the 74 million Americans who voted for him – over 10 million more than voted for Barack Obama?
13. Joy Behar
The 79-year-old Joy Behar is an opinionated airhead on the daytime gab-fest The View, with no respect for people who disagree with her. Complaining in 2017 that Trump’s budget would hurt the most vulnerable Americans, Behar claimed, “Just when you thought it was safe to stop talking about Trump, he unleashes his budget on us. He wants to cut clean water. He wants to stop helping old people and public education so we can all be as dumb as he is!”[18]
Taking a swipe at Trump’s wife Melania, who is not really a political figure, just because she is his wife, Behar said, “I feel sorry for her. She had to sleep with him once.”[19] This was an ugly reference to the couple’s only child together, Barron.
“This is an unbelievable corrupt president, corrupt administration, and the Republican Party is right behind him, and they all should be thrown into jail as far as I’m concerned,” Behar ranted on air in 2019.[20] At other times she called Trump a “psycho,”[21] “anarchist,”[22] and mentally-ill “snake-oil salesman”[23] who “made it his business for four years to rape this country”[24] and who rose “to the level of treason.”[25] Prior to the 2020 election, Behar fretted apocalyptically that a Trump victory would mean “the end of democracy. It’s the end of this country, four more years of this.”[26]
Before that election, she claimed Trump “doesn’t denounce white supremacy because he is a white supremacist.”[27] Like her other claims about Trump, this was false. Trump had actually denounced white supremacy and racism dozens of times publicly.
In June 2021 she told The View audience that Trump looked like he “pooped” his pants during a speech to the North Carolina Republican Party.[28]
Behar supported the silencing of Trump on Twitter despite his 80 million followers. She compared Facebook’s parallel ban on him to a radio ban imposed on Benito Mussolini.[29] According to Behar, Trump’s supporters – presumably all 74 million – suffered from a “herd mentality” because they followed him “like lemmings going over a cliff.”[30] She argued on The View that Presidents’ Day should not honor “losers” like Republicans Trump and Nixon,[31] thereby demonstrating that the only form of government she is truly comfortable with is a one-party state.
12. Whoopi Goldberg
The comedienne Goldberg, 66, was once an Oscar-winning actress but is now best-known as the ringleader of the long-running, ABC daytime talk circus The View, which features a regular panel of mainly left-wing women chatting about the news of the day.
In 2015, Goldberg slammed critics of the abortion mill Planned Parenthood, telling them unoriginally to “Get out of my vagina!”[32] In an episode the following year, she claimed that the right to an abortion is no different from the right of Christians to celebrate Christmas.[33]
In a separate episode, she added her view that “there have been a lot of monster Christians.” As an example she said “Hitler was a Christian”[34] – putting her out-of-control bigotry and bottomless ignorance on display for millions of viewers.
A relentless critic of Trump before, during, and after his presidency, Goldberg chastised the candidate in January 2016 for criticizing illegal immigration. “That’s scapegoating,” she lamented. “It’s as old as the hills. What do you think World War II is all about? You know that. It’s all about blaming the Jews. Now it’s the Mexicans and the Muslims.”[35] Like so many of her anti-Trump colleagues Goldberg doesn’t seem to understand the difference between legal and illegal immigration. Under Trump there was no ban on legal Mexican or Muslim immigration. None.
Goldberg is quick to defend violence, of course, as long as it’s in the service of leftist agendas. After co-host Meghan McCain said if Trump fired special counsel Robert Mueller, there would be riots in Washington D.C. “at levels we haven’t seen,” Goldberg interjected, “Now that would be fun to watch, I have to say.”[36] As the jury deliberated in the case of teenager Kyle Rittenhouse, however, Goldberg fear-mongered that “it’s really a red light for white folks coming to help at social justice protests. Because basically what they’re saying is ‘Oh, it’s OK to shoot white people too.'”[37] Never mind that the three culprits were convicted felons armed with weapons or otherwise lethal objects, threatening Rittenhouse’s life. Also, the violent “protests” were not about “justice”; they were lynch mobs demanding verdicts against police officers in advance of any trials.
Whoopi’s treatment of the few conservative guests the show invites is often nastier than Joy Behar’s mouth. In 2018, after an appearance by author Judge Jeanine Pirro, Pirro recounted how Goldberg cursed “Fuck you” at her repeatedly off-camera during show, and “got in my face to the point where she was actually spitting at me and she said, ‘Get the f out of here. Get the f out of this building,’ and she’s pointing to the door.’”[38]
Like Behar, Whoopi is fond of scatological references. She told her audience in 2018 that she did not “recognize” Donald Trump as president because he was taking a “giant dump” on the country.[39] Similarly, after a federal judge ordered reporter Jim Acosta‘s White House access be restored, she warned Trump, “You can’t poop on the Constitution.”[40]
11. Patton Oswalt
The actor, comedian, and screenwriter Patton Oswalt, 53, is known for many roles in television and film, and has appeared in six stand-up specials. He is also well-known for his mindless verbal assaults on Trump, whom he calls “an ignorant, vengeful, racist asshole,”[41] and for his support of the violent Brownshirts of Antifa, whom he equated in a sarcastic May 2020 tweet to U.S. troops landing at Normandy on D-Day.[42] Officially, Antifa views America as a fascist country, with which it considers itself at war.
When a Twitter user posted that “Trump has properties all over the world” and therefore “terrorists will have a long list of targets that are literally owned by POTUS and bear his name,” Oswalt retweeted it with the caption, “Holy Fuck. Come ‘n’ get it, terrorists.”[43]
Dismissing Russian collusion in the 2016 election as a conspiracy theory, he declared, “But the SCARIER thing is facing the fact that America elected an openly racist, failed grifter, sexual predator to the highest office in the land — all by ourselves.”[44]
“The President is a stupid asshole and if you voted for him you’re a stupid asshole and if you still support him you’re a stupid asshole,” Oswalt ranted in December 2019.[45] A few months later he joked that Trump’s “MAGA” supporters infected with COVID-19 would be angry about the media’s “fake news” even as they coughed themselves to death.[46]
In a Buzzfeed interview in February 2019, Oswalt offered a description of the Trump administration as “an 18-wheeler full of monkeys and PCP that has crashed into a train full of diarrhea, and so there’s diarrhea-covered monkeys on PCP running around.”[47] Yes, the standards for comedy on the Hollywood left are just that low.
In an August 2018 essay published on McSweeny’s, Oswalt called for Trump’s impeachment, claiming that “[o]ur president surrounds himself with criminals,” and that anyone who supports those “bullies… can fuck right off.”[48]
